Tao Wenting grew up in Anhui before her family moved to Shanghai, where she graduated from high school. She moved to the US in 2014, completing a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art and Mathematics at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, followed by an MFA in Painting at the Pratt Institute in New York.
