James Tabbush is an artist and writer based in London. He studied painting at City and Guilds of London Art School, directed the project space Pipeline, and has written for publications including Elephant Magazine. He completed his MFA at Goldsmiths, University of London. His current filmic practice is concerned with loss of world, with dream logics and with pressure on the feeling of the unified rational self. He has created online channels such as Unthought ASMR, exploring modes of distribution and discourse outside of the art world, and examining the ways infrastructure shapes the logic of image production. These projects intend to disquiet certainties and provide new language through slow infiltration of online communities. He currently teaches on the MFA course at Goldsmiths and as an educator elsewhere.
