Zhang Hao graduated with a BSc in Biology from Peking University. In 2013 he changed track and started on successive postgraduate and doctoral programmes at the School of Humanities, Tongji University. He is currently a doctoral candidate majoring in Philosophy of Art. His main interests include philosophy of art, theories and practices of modern and contemporary art in Europe and the United States, as well as the translation of relevant art texts. From 2017 to 2019 Zhang Hao was selected for the joint training programme of government-sponsored doctoral students and studied in the Department of Art and Visual History at the Humboldt University of Berlin. He sees himself as a ‘common viewer’ and constantly explores possible ways of returning to the art scene, the work of art itself often providing more effective information than the words of its creator.
